Tomatoes, thyme, peppers, red leaf lettuce, rosemary, beets, chives, beans … our garden is in! Behind the house, within the ivy-covered fence, underneath the reaching branches of the maple tree, nestled in a quiet corner in the midst of the city, grows our Eden. Purple petunias fill the window boxes.

To grow things is exciting to me. To peak out the window with expectation.  To watch the slow climb of the tomato plants to the sky and the branching of the pepper plants. To pick fresh vegetables off the vine and fill my basket. To eat food I’ve grown with my own hands … it is a happiness.
