My latest adventure was attending the Classical Christian Fine Arts Symposium in Lancaster, PA. It invigorates me to spend time in the presence of people whose brains and are much larger than my own – a situation in which I find myself quite often.

After this weekend, surrounded by sculptors, painters, musicians and poets, I possess a larger vision of the significance of art. My notebook is filled with scribbled titles of books I want to read, and the poetic words of artists describing the power of art.

I want my days to be filled with singing.

Kim and Heather and I gathered this evening to pray and sing together to end the day.

And I think of the words of Yeats:

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet’s wings.
