Solomon, when his father died and he inherited the throne, begged God for wisdom. He said, “I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in …”

Every day I teach children: Avery, Michael, Georgia, Evan, Rosalie, Charlie, Virginia, Abigail, Rylee, Isaac, Amelia, Tyler, Luke …

And yet, every morning, waking, I realize that I am still a child myself. I know just a few things. I’m still grasping at the edges of knowledge with raw fingers tips. I hold only a glimmer of light.

So I’m crying out too at this awesome task.

May their path be like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
